Upcoming WhatsApp updates 2021: Many new features such as Unlike, Read Later, Multi-device, and more run on the messaging network.
Millions of people worldwide use WhatsApp. Every other month, the Facebook-owned messaging app launches new features to boost the overall user experience. WhatsApp launched several features last year to tackle the spread of false data, and expanded community callers to balance other video calling platforms such as Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, among others. The messaging platform is also testing some new characteristics this year and plans to announce them in the days to come. We take a look at five upcoming features of WhatsApp that will boost the general user experience.
Some of the new features that are coming-
1. Unlike and Logout feature-
To bring this feature very soon, the messaging app is gearing up. The organization has already begun testing it. This, unlike the feature, was spotted on WhatsApp beta update 2.21.30.16, as per a report from WABetaInfo. Basically, the feature would allow WhatsApp users to log in to their PC or Web account without the need for their main phone, which is not the case right now. This is another sort of multi-device feature that is currently being evaluated by the framework. The study noted, "WhatsApp Web Multi-Device: You can use WhatsApp Web without connecting your main phone to the Internet."
2. Multi-Device Support-
For a long time now, we have been waiting for this WhatsApp functionality. Reportedly, the messaging platform is testing the feature in beta, suggesting that it could be launched very soon. As the name indicates, users will be able to log in to their account on more than one computer with this feature. Users are currently only able to log in to their WhatsApp account on one cell phone.
3. Whatsapp Web Voice and Video Call-
This is another feature that we are all eagerly waiting for. In reality, when video calling was the only way to meet each other, we believe that the platform should have launched this feature itself last year. WhatsApp is testing the Web functionality for video and voice calls and should be released shortly.
4. Video Mute-
Another functionality that WhatsApp is currently testing is Mute videos. This feature will, as the name implies, allow users to mute a video before sending it to a contact. Reports indicate that this role may be released earlier than expected.
5. Read Later-
For a long time now, WhatsApp has been testing the Read Later feature. Again, this function will allow users to mark a contact under the Read Later feature as the name suggests, which ensures that messages or calls from a specific contact will not be interrupted until the feature is disabled. This function functions much like chats that are archived. "Some sources also say that this functionality could be named "vacation mode" by the messaging platform.
Notably, WhatsApp has not yet disclosed information about these features listed above. We hope that very soon the platform will talk about these features.
