Pitch Report

The pitch at the Chepauk has always been a spinning track. Batting may not be all that easy. Fielding first and knowing how the pitch behaves, should be a strategy. The temperature will be around 31 degrees Celsius with the humidity mostly in the 60s. There’s no chance of Rain.

Avg score: 146 (8 T20s at the Chepauk in IPL 2019)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 4, Lost – 4, NR – 0

1 st Match - RCB VS MI :

What can be a better season opener than a match between Greek Gods(MI) and The Mighty Lions(RCB). A side that has tasted the trophy 5 times vs a side that is eager to taste their first Ipl trophy. A match between the best all-rounders and power hitters. A power-packed Friday Night, what a way to start the weekend.

Now coming to the teams, there are la lot of changes going to happen in both teams.

IPL LIVE

First Coming to Mumbi Indians :

They have three major questions marks: who will open with Rohit Sharma, who will the spin Bowling option, who will be the third seamer.

Quinton De Kock will not be available for the opening match of the IPL 2021 so there are only two options left – either Chris Lynn or Ishan Kishan. Lynn didn’t get a chance in IPL 2020, but his current form in Big Bash also doesn’t support his opening argument. Most Probably Rohit Sharma is going to pick the Indian Youngstar Ishaan Kissan as his opening partner.

There is confusion between Piyush Chawla and Rahul Chahar, who will be playing. But the current form of Rahul Chahar gives him a high chance to play the first 11. Piyush Chawla is an experienced IPL player but his current domestic form may not give him a place in the first 11.

For the third seamer position, Counter-Nile is leading currently because of the current Big Bash form. Jimmy Neesham can also get a chance because of his all-round play with his bat.

Now Coming to Royal Challengers Bangalore :

Their team combinations gonna be new this year, full of power hitters and a great spinning line-up.

They also might face problems with middle-order as Maxwell was not in great form in IPL 2020. So if wickets start to fall in a bunch then there might be a chance of an early innings break.

RCB has a good bowling line-up. especially their spin duo – Chahal and Zampa. Zampa might get a chance to play in spinning tracks. And RCB also has a good bowling line-up this year. Hope this year, they not going to chuck in death overs.

Probable Playing XIs:

Mumbai Indians:

Rohit Sharma (C), Chris Lynn, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan (wk), Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Nathan Coulter Nile/Piyush Chawla, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar/Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Baby/Suyash Prabhudessai, Daniel Christian, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kyle Jamieson/Kane Richardson
